The Phantom 10-U team
completed a very successful season by placing 13th in the ASA
Western Nationals. With an extremely tough 46 team field, the Phantom
girls finished with 4 wins and 2 losses in the double elimination
tournament. The national tournament capped an extremely successful year
in which the team posted an overall record of 35 wins and 9 losses, which
included finishing first in 3 tournaments and runner-up in the other 4
tournaments played.
The team of Katie Echavia, Caylee Heller, Victoria
Louie, Katie Mannion, Breezy Perry, Allison Pluschkell, Zoe Price, Angelina Sangiacomo, Jenna Sparks, Megan Tabler,
Paige Tabler, and Krista Williams combined to
outscore their oppponents 425 to 61 during the
season. With strong pitching, powerful hitting and a sticky defense, the
Phantom 10 team consistently challenged for tournament titles.
Also contributing to
the success of the team were the coaches. Matt Price, Tom Roush, Scott Tabler, and Tony Echavia provided
a strong teaching environment that enabled the players to succeed. In
addition, thanks goes out to the parents of the players who ensured the players
were always at practices and games during the season as well as cheering the
team to victory.
Lastly, a special thanks goes out to the sponsors of the Phantom 10
team, who without their help the national tournament would have not been a
reality.
