What is the Pleasanton Phantom?
Ever wonder about those jackets and sweatshirts with the "Phantom" logo that you see the girls wearing at school and around the Sports Park?  You wondered why young softball players are into the Phantom of the Opera instead of N'Sync or the Backstreet Boys?  Most of these girls have never even heard of Phantom but they wear the symbol with pride as members of Pleasanton's "Traveling Teams". Pleasanton Girls Softball League conducts an annual summer program, which competes in ASA Sanctioned ‘B’ Tournaments, that are played through out the Greater Bay Area & Northern California. Phantom teams in all age groups have acquitted themselves well in recent years, with many earning invitations to the "National Tournaments" held in August in such faraway locales as Washington state, Colorado and Texas. For girls who love to play softball, this is a great opportunity to further develop their skills and have fun over the summer!!!

Who is Eligible?
This year PGSL is planning to sponsor at least one team in five youth age divisions (U10, U12, U14, U16 & U18). Some age groups may have two teams. These teams are selected from a combined league play evaluation process along with Phantom Team 'Technical Skills Clinic' that was conducted on April 18th at the Amador Valley HS softball field at the following times:

14's - 9:00 - 11:00 am
12's - 11:00 - 1:00
10's - 1:00 - 3:00pm

16's - TBD

18's - 3:00 - 5:00pm

2004 teams will be selected and notified on May 3rd.

Coaching Careers!
 If you are interested in being a Phantom coach or learning more about requirements for being a Phantom coach please contact Mike Reever (426-2487). Note that we may field more than one phantom team per age group if there are enough qualified players and coaches. All Phantom Team Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches are approved by the PGSL Board of Directors.

PGSL 2004 Summer Classic
The Pleasanton Girls Softball League annually hosts one of the most popular and well-recognized ‘B’ Tournaments in Northern California.  This year’s Tournament is being held on July 16th, 17th and 18th.  Our Tournament traditionally hosts some 60 Teams, and is held at the Pleasanton Sports Park Adult & Girls Softball Complexes and Upper Bernal fields..
