| To all PGSL Players, Parents, Coaches and Sponsors, Welcome to the Pleasanton Girls Softball League (PGSL) 2009 season of fun and exciting fast pitch softball. The Board of Directors and I look forward to a fantastic year. We will continue with the rich history of premier softball programs at PGSL and constantly evaluate the latest training techniques and provide our girls with the proper training and coaching needed to play competitive softball while having fun. We are committed to providing quality softball for every player (ages 5 to 18) in PGSL, as well as promoting competitive play, sportsmanship, skill development and most importantly making it fun for the girls. PGSL has had a rich tradition of quality softball at all levels. We have expanded our softball programs so that the girls can play almost year round. We have established a partnership with The Total Playing Center (TPC) as well as several pitching and hitting coaches/instructors to provide additional resources for PGSL. We have established an excellent reputation with our summer Phantom travel programs with continued appearances in National Championships. Our summer classic tournament is always a big hit and draws teams from all over Northern California. In the last 3 years we expanded with a Fall Ball travel program. This fall, we tested a Fall Training Program for the Mini and Minor divisions. We will continue our Senior Inter-league recreational program with Livermore and also test and assess Inter-league games with the Major Uppers division with San Ramon. These programs will continue to improve and expand which will give our girls more opportunities to play softball. Volunteering and sponsorships drives the success of our league. It has helped make us successful in the past and will be critical to the success for the upcoming 2009 season. We are always looking for those interested in coaching, as well as helping in administrative positions on our board of directors. We want each player and volunteer coach to have a successful and rewarding experience, and offer skills training to optimize those chances. We look forward to a great year and appreciate all the help from our volunteers and sponsors! David Duval President |
