Highlights from the 10b and 10c championship
games are scheduled to air on Tri-Valley Sports Final on Comcast
Channel 30 (TV30 - Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon).
Scheduled airtimes are:
Tuesday (8/12) at 7pm.
Wednesday (8/13) at 9am and 7pm.
Thursday (8/14) at 9am and 7pm.
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (8/15-17) at 9am, 7pm, & 10pm.
The show is also scheduled to air during the following week.
WHAT IS PLEASANTON PHANTOM
The Pleasanton Girls Softball League
conducts a summer program, with traveling teams competing in
tournaments that are played throughout the greater Bay Area &
Northern California. Phantom teams consist of only players
registered with PGSL. The selection of these teams occurs in
early May, with the first tournament usually over the Memorial
Day weekend, and they will generally play through late
July/early August. Phantom teams will play in 4 – 7
tournaments and require a higher commitment level than what is
required of the PGSL spring league. Phantom teams in all age
groups have represented themselves well in recent years, with
many competitively competing at the “ASA National Championship
Tournaments" held in August in such faraway locales as
Washington State, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.
PHANTOM FALL BALL PROGRAM
For the past several years the Phantom
program has fielded a fall traveling team in both the 12u and
14u divisions. These teams have played in 4 – 5 local
tournaments from September through early November. Players are to tryout for the age group that
they would be eligible for during the following summer season.

Fall 2008:Tryouts August 24, 2008:
All tryouts will be held at Amador High School. Please
arrive 30 minutes early to register and warm-up.
10u (JV Field) & 12u (Varsity Field):
1:00 PM Pitchers/catchers only
1:30 PM fielding/hitting
14u (Varsity Field):
3:30 PM Pitchers/catchers
4:00 PM fielding/hitting
These tryouts are for the Phantom travel program and are
not for a fall league. Each team will compete in 4-5
tournaments in the greater bay area between early
September and early November. Players will tryout for
the age division that they would play in 2009. The one
exception is that players born in 1993 who played on a
14u Phantom summer team may tryout out for the fall 14u
team, even though they would be 16u eligible in 2009.
This is due to the league not fielding a 16u team for
the fall and 1993 birthdates still eligible for 14u for
the remainder of 2008. Other age group guidelines:
10u: 1998 or younger birth date
12u: 1996 or 1997 birth date
14u: 1994 or 1995 birth date
