Girls 5 – 18 years old are eligible to play Softball with PGSL.  Evaluations for 10U and MS are planned for December 5th.  Players will be evaluated for draft placement on Rec and Comp teams. Once the teams are formed, sometime in January, players & parents will be notified.

  • Which division do I sign up for?: For the 2022 Spring Season: Born in 2016 - T-Ball, Born in 2015- 6U, Born in 2013 or 2014- 7U/8U, Born in 2011 or 2012 - 10U, Middle School - Middle School, High School- Seniors
  • Can my daughter play with her friends?: You can request friends or coach in the "Request" section of registration. We cannot guarantee placement on any particular team, but will take requests into account while trying to form "equal" teams.
  • Why is my daughter on a waitlist?: That division does not have enough head coaches yet. You can still register to play or coach. Contact Division Director with ?s http://www.pleasantonsoftball.org/content/456/Board-of-Directors
  • How does the Wait List Work?: You can register and pay to hold a spot on the Wait List. If we get enough coaches we will start releasing from the waitlist. Players not placed on a team will get a refund.
  • Do you have enough coaches?: Probably not. We have had to turn away players and limit the number of teams due to a lack of coaches the past few seasons. PGSL offers training and assistance to first time and returning coaches.
  • Do you have player evaluations?: Player evaluations TENTATIVELY will be held on Sunday, December 5 at the Bernal Community Park Stadium Field (formerly Patelco) Fields) (Turf Fields) @ Bernal in Pleasanton.
  • Who should attend evaluations?: All girls playing in the 10U and Middle School divisions (Birthdates of 2008 to 2012). Girls must attend to play in the "Competitive" Divisions.
  • When will I hear from the coach?: Most girls will hear from their coach for the first time in mid to late January. Contact Division Director with these questions. http://www.pleasantonsoftball.org/content/456/Board-of-Directors
  • What about late birthday, 2010 girls?: If your daughter is an 11 year old 5th Grader she is welcome to register for 10U or Middle School for the spring rec season. If she decides to play in summer program, she must play 12U in summer.

  • Is there an early bird discount?: There is a $50 early bird discount for registrations on or before December 1st.
  • When Will "Seniors" Teams Form?: "Seniors" teams will not form until after the local high school teams have been formed. This will be in mid February.
  • What is your refund policy?: There are no refunds once players are placed on a team. Team placement varied by division and skill level. In the Senior division, we offer full refunds if the player makes a high school or JV team.
  • When does the season start?: The first game is usually the first Saturday in March and the season ends in late May.
  • When are practices?: Practices start in late January to mid February. The head coach of the team sets the practice times for their team. After March 1, most teams practice on Friday and/or Sunday.
  • When are games?: Most weeks your daughter will have a weeknight game and a Saturday game.
  • What equipment do I need?: Players will need their own bat, helmet with face guard, glove, and pants. Bag, cleats, and balls are recommended. Each team will have catcher's gear.
  • How many games are played?: The regular season has 12-16 games. 10U, Middle, and Seniors have playoffs which add 2-5 games.
  • Why does it say 10U and not U10?: Softball uses the age designation then the letter "U". 10U means players 10 and Under as of 12/31 of the previous year are eligible for 10U. Other sports have U10, which means players Under 10.
